Strength and endurance in one project
I am deeply fascinated by sport and longevity. I want to build a powerful strength-and-endurance hybrid: combine long-distance running with substantial strength and develop fitness that I can maintain over the years.
I treat this as a project in its own right. My working description is a “biological cyborg” — understanding my own body, drawing on science and measurements, and exploring how those pieces translate into training and recovery.
Endurance first, with a foundation of strength
My training currently prioritizes endurance, while strength work focuses on maintaining what I built through powerlifting. From my own observations, I am losing very little strength, despite shifting the priority towards long-distance running.
That combination is what interests me most: developing endurance while retaining a foundation of strength. I monitor changes in training capacity, wellbeing and recovery, and use those observations to adjust my approach.
Research and continuous tracking
I try to inform my decisions with scientific papers and compare what I read with my own observations. Training, sleep, recovery and wellbeing are connected parts of the same process. My interest in longevity centers on long-term physical capability and quality of life.
This approach also connects to Tedd’mhen, the training, sleep and wellbeing journal I wrote, with tools for analyzing the data. It is the technical side of the same curiosity: collecting observations consistently and being able to revisit them over time.
Training also creates space to think
During training, I find it easier to organize my thoughts across all kinds of subjects. Ideas often arrive then, including musical ones. I write them down afterwards and develop them through my separate music project.
